May 28, 2007

Korean Actress Jeon Do-yeon won the Best Actress award for her role in South Korean director Lee Chang-Dong’s film ‘MilYang ; Secret Sunshine’  at the 60th edition of the Cannes Film Festival on May 27, 2007.

This is far more worthy achievement than DJ’s Nobel Prize.

One More Step Towards Unification

May 17, 2007

Two trains from North and South Korea crossed the heavily armed border line on Thursday since 1951.

“It took the two Koreas 56 years to send the trains — one starting in the South and one in the North — across the Cold War’s last frontier for the runs of about 25 km (15 miles)…

North Korea’s military, fearful of increased openings between the isolated country and the outside world, cancelled a planned run a year ago. It agreed last week to a one-off run, despite pressure from Seoul for more crossings…

The South Korean government has been criticized at home for sending massive aid to the North only to see Pyongyang respond to its largesse by halting cooperation projects and sparking a security crisis with a nuclear test last year…”

Whatever the political reasons behind I feel it was a right step towards unification on the Korean Peninsula.

$1.63 Billion Party

May 11, 2007

It is 1008 days to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.  Acording to the news, It’s $1.63 Billion Party. On the projected $1.63 Billion P& L, International TV rights& sponsors promised $603.1 Million, $760 Million from domestic sponsors and Tickets projected to generate $232 Million (90 per cent of Winter Games tickets being sold in order to break even). The biggest expense is Service operation and Ceremonies which budgeted for $550 Million.

$550 Million on Service and Ceremonies…wow…The ceremonies must be heck of amazing ones…BTW, how much is the city of Vancouver, British Columbia or Stephen Harper Government budgeted to act on Global Warming issue? hmm.

And here’s a TGIF song which is very addictive one, at least to me, and I already listened 10 times in a row this morning.

Don’t Pump GAS on May 15th, 2007

May 8, 2007

We’re all fed up with high gas prices, here’s an opportunity to try someting that may make a differences.

What do we have to lose if we follow the instruction below? Let’s try it to see if it works.

Don’t Pump Gas on May 15th.… in April 1997, there was a “Gas Out”conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, All internet users are asked to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00/Gallon in most places, And that’s over $5/gallon in Canadian (5 liters to a imperial Gallon)

There are 73,000,000 + American members currently on the internet network, and the avg. car takes about $30 to $50 to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000 (almost $3Bill.) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day. so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and let’s try to put a dent to the oil Giant at least one day.  If you agree (which I can’t see why you wouldn’t) resent this to all your contact list.

With it saying “Don’t Pump Gas on May 15th, 2007”
